SFCCA Youth Community Service: "Unsung Heroes of Tomorrow" attracts 150 participants for "plogging" event

 

Organised by the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA) Youth Committee, co-organised by the Bukit Panjang Hokkien Konghuay and the Bukit Panjang Khek Community Guild, the "Unsung Heroes of Tomorrow" Youth Community Service event, "plogging", was held on 24th March, Sunday, attracting 150 participants.

 


150 ploggers took off from Bukit Panjang Hokkien Konghuay

 

The participants started at the Bukit Panjang Hokkien Konghuay, running along the 5km Bukit Timah railway, picking up garbage while jogging, giving back to society by protecting the environment. Many participants brought their children to the event, taking the opportunity to temporarily leave their electronic gadgets, getting closer to nature while exercising. Most importantly, the event also helped to promote parent-child relationships, hitting many birds with one stone.

 





Everyone has a part to play in protecting the environment. A group of participants practiced what they preached by picking up garbage while jogging, maintaining the cleanliness of the city

The event ended at the Bukit Panjang Khek Community Guild. After several kilometers of walking, the participants were starting to feel exhausted. The guild had prepared traditional Hakka goodies like yong tau foo, abacus seeds, and Hakka noodles for them

 


The the Bukit Panjang Khek Community Guild had prepared various Hakka delicacies, and everyone enjoyed the food immensely

 


The event ended successfully on a happy and joyous mood

 

In conjunction with Singapore's bicentennial, SFCCA has launched a series of "Unsung Heroes of Tomorrow" Youth Community Service activities under the "Unsung Heroes" Series, with the aim of getting young people to participate in philanthropic and community service activities, to cultivate heroes of tomorrow to contribute to the society.
